Axie Infinity establishes an independent foundation to implement on-chain governance decisions.
[Coin World] Axie announced the establishment of the Axie Infinity Foundation, which will be an independent non-profit entity that acts as a trustee and is bound by Axie's on-chain governance decisions. Its main responsibility is to execute the community's wishes and deploy community treasury assets solely based on community voting directives. Sky Mavis will utilize assets from the ecosystem fund to inject capital into the foundation to cover at least two years of operational expenses. It is currently exploring the best legal structure for the foundation, focusing on Decentralization Unincorporated Nonprofit Organizations (DUNA), which will allow it to establish a legal entity in the United States, enabling the community to enter into contracts, hold assets, and open bank accounts.
