The Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission has extended the time for visiting professionals to provide virtual asset services to 45 days each calendar year.
According to Jinse Finance, the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission has issued a circular regarding optimized measures to facilitate visiting professionals conducting regulated activities or providing virtual asset services in Hong Kong. Currently, mobile professionals are allowed to conduct regulated activities or provide virtual asset services in Hong Kong for no more than 30 days in each calendar year, and their licenses will be subject to a condition in this regard (the existing mobile professionals condition). To facilitate visiting professionals and allow them more flexibility in carrying out the aforementioned activities in Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission is now extending the relevant period to 45 days in each calendar year. The newly extended conditions will apply to existing licensed mobile professionals, and the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission will arrange for existing licensed mobile professionals to replace their current mobile professionals conditions with the conditions that have a 45-day limit.
